Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh - 2 day Workshop
Plans have been confirmed for an in-person collaboration in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh (August 2026 dates to be finalised).
This visit will support a series of advocacy workshops and community engagements, with local coordination already confirmed by partners on the ground.
A Critical Moment: August and Rohingya Genocide Remembrance
The planned engagement coincides with an important time for the Rohingya community. August marks the anniversary of the Rohingya Genocide Remembrance Day on 25 August, a period expected to include protests, memorial events, and community gatherings.
This timing presents a unique opportunity for LawAid Foundation and LawAid International (and its collaborators) to witness and document these events, amplifying Rohingya voices and strengthening global awareness of ongoing challenges and calls for justice.
Amplifying Rohingya Perspectives
As part of this collaboration, Noor Sadeque has shared published work highlighting critical issues facing the Rohingya community. One such article, 8 years after the Rohingya genocide: our struggle continues, provides a powerful account of the ongoing challenges, resilience, and advocacy efforts of the Rohingya people.
The programme and ongoing collaboration exists to interrupt the cycle — transforming vulnerability into capability and injustice into a pathway toward accountability. By equipping young Rohingya leaders with practical legal tools, collaborative networks, and strategy, it lays the groundwork for sustained advocacy, protection, and justice.
